We have been staying at the Village Retreat once or twice year, for the last 8 years and it is a gem of a rental for both short and long term stays.

Its location is superb, in the heart of the village with shops close at hand, a few minutes to the beach, the open air swimming pool and children's playing areas. yet so peaceful due to its situation well away from the main road. The garden is a sun trap, well tended with new outdoor furniture.

It has everything one could need for a comfortable stay and more.

Each stay shows further thought and expense with refurbishing.

A lovely wee place! My partner and I only stayed a few nights but could have without a doubt - stayed a lot more! Might I add the place was well equipped. We will definitely be back :)

Thank you Liz.

Great location in Eastbourne - very close to the shops and beach. House is very well equipped and has everything available for a pleasant and relaxed stay on the Wellington coast.

We stayed here for about 2 weeks and were very happy with our stay. This is a nice, well maintained townhouse with an efficient layout. The 2 bedrooms are connected by a shared bathroom, so both rooms have easy access. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is nice (looks like it has had some recent updates), and the living area is very comfortable. French doors open out onto a nice little patio / outdoor area, which is fenced in for privacy.

Did I mention the location? You are right around the corner from the beach, pier and playground / playfields. You are just down the street from a corner grocery store, which is great for picking up that one thing you somehow forgot to pack. You are also just around the corner from Eastbourne Village, where you can find (among other things) 2 excellent cafes, a deli, a butcher, a fruit stand, a pharmacy, and a small pub / eatery. We did not go hungry on this trip. :)

You've got easy access to other beach areas, as well, like Days Bay. There are some hiking tracks nearby, but we didn't have chance to explore them. There is also convenient bus service into Wellington with a stop right at Eastbourne Village.

We found the accommodation excellent – notably quiet after the rush of Auckland, everything that we needed, neat and tidy and practically next door to the village cafes and bar. Being sited centrally in Eastbourne it was easy to access for other family members.
